Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of CommunityLeague ("the platform", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using CommunityLeague, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. What CommunityLeague is

CommunityLeague is a platform for organising competitions, leagues, and tournaments. It allows users to create leagues, manage teams and fixtures, track results, and share a public page with participants and spectators.

CommunityLeague is provided as-is. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice where possible.

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised use of your account, contact us immediately.

We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or are found to be used for fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purposes.

3. Your responsibilities as a league organiser

As a league organiser, you are responsible for:

  • The accuracy of match results and standings you enter
  • Obtaining appropriate consent before adding players' personal information
  • Ensuring that any players under the age of 13 have parental or guardian consent before being registered on the platform
  • The content of any ad banners or images you upload to your league page
  • The conduct of your league and any disputes that arise between teams or players

CommunityLeague is a tool — we are not responsible for the outcome of competitions, refereeing decisions, or disputes between participants. Those remain the responsibility of the organiser.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use CommunityLeague to:

  • Post false, misleading, or defamatory content
  • Upload content that is offensive, discriminatory, or violates any applicable law
  • Impersonate another person or organisation
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account or part of the platform
  • Use the platform for commercial spam or unsolicited marketing
  • Upload images or content that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights
  • Use the platform in any way that could harm, disrupt, or overburden our systems

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these rules without notice.

5. Content you create

You retain ownership of the content you create on CommunityLeague — league names, team names, results, and any images you upload.

By posting content, you grant CommunityLeague a non-exclusive licence to display, store, and transmit that content as necessary to provide the service. We will not use your content for advertising purposes without your consent.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload — including banner images and logos — does not infringe the rights of any third party.

6. Public league pages

By default, league pages, team names, player names, standings, and results are visible to anyone with the league link. If you do not want information to be publicly visible, do not add it to the platform.

You can deactivate your league at any time, which will prevent new public access to that league's page.

7. Payments

Where payment features are available on the platform, payments are processed securely by Paystack. CommunityLeague does not store payment card or bank details.

Fees for ad placements or premium features, where applicable, are non-refundable unless the platform fails to deliver the service as described. If you believe you are owed a refund, contact us within 7 days of payment.

8. Intellectual property

The CommunityLeague name, logo, design, and platform code are our intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

9. Limitation of liability

CommunityLeague is provided on an 'as is' basis without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • Loss of data or league records due to technical failure
  • Disputes between league organisers, teams, or players
  • Incorrect results or standings entered by league organisers
  • Indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform

Our total liability to you in connection with the platform will not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using CommunityLeague at any time and request deletion of your account by emailing us. We may terminate or suspend your account if you breach these terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. League data may be retained for a limited period for legal and record-keeping purposes before deletion.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email or by displaying a notice on the platform. Continued use of CommunityLeague after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes arising from use of the platform will be resolved through good faith negotiation in the first instance. If that fails, disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in the country where CommunityLeague is registered.

13. Contact

If you have questions about these terms or need to report a violation, please contact us at hello@community-leagues.com.
